ZEROBAG EVOLUTION

Zerobag oRIGINALS LAUNCHED IN 2009 AND WERE SO POPULAR THAT THEY SOLD OUT. FEAR NOT, WE DESIGNED SOME NEW HEROES.

The original Zerobag was launched in 2009.

Made in New Zealand from upcycled parachutes, these reusable bags are incredibly strong and lightweight, compacting down to about the size of a small mobile phone.

Creator Aaron Jones, an architectural designer by trade, thought of the idea while living in London in 2008. Appalled by the ever-increasing plastic pollution in the city, he set on finding the perfect lightweight, long-life, quality reusable bag that could fit in his pocket.

Frustrated by the products on offer, he began to design the perfect bag. A chance conversation with a friend in France about skydiving and the reusable bag designs he was working on led to the idea of sourcing out-of-service parachutes to fashion upcycled bags.

ZEROBAG 2.0 IS DESIGNED IN NZ TO THE SAME SPECIFICATIONS AS THE ORIGINALS AND MANUFACTURED OFFSHORE IN HAND SELECTED, FAMILY RUN businesses.

Since the success of the original Zerobag, the company has had to turn down large orders due to manufacturing costs in New Zealand and a lack of parachute supply.

Due to these restrictions, in 2018 our team worked on perfecting a new bag, Zerobag 2.0.

We have taken the utmost care to deliver a product that is of the same quality and integrity as the original Zerobag.

The Zerobag 2.0 is reusable and made from 100% certified recycled plastic bottles (rPET) material.

In 2023, we developed the innovative ZERO-BIN LINER, available in a convenient 60L size. Due to the high demand for larger options, we are working on prototypes and samples for 2025.

Our brand has continuously evolved to address emerging environmental challenges while meeting market demands. The introduction of the ZERO-BIN Liner represents a strategic expansion into sustainable waste management solutions.

ZERO-BIN is meticulously engineered to optimise waste containment, mitigate odours, and reduce operational costs for businesses. Crafted from recycled materials, it not only offers practical benefits but also aligns with our core values of sustainability and corporate responsibility.

2024 - the year of the Offcut - Zerobags made from 100% recycled parachute material offcuts.

In 2024, we explored the journey of parachute material offcuts and partnered with Jyro New Zealand to repurpose their offcut materials into strong, lightweight, compact Zerobags. The vibrant colour combinations brought joy to our studio, inspiring us to introduce the Offcut Retro edition. We’re excited to give these materials a second chance at life, knowing they’ll travel to the amazing destinations they’re named after and help make a difference along the way.
